Do ROHM parts contain phosphorous fire retardant?
Posted by - NA - on 26 January 2008 05:44 AM

In 2001, a number of companies experienced component failures due to internal shorting. The root cause is believed to be the presence of phosphorus particles in the resin mold package of components, which are used as a substitute fire retardant instead of bromide, causing bridging of the wire bonds. However, ROHM hereby states that phosphorous fire retardant is NOT contained in the resin mold compound used in the manufacture of any of our components.
